is finally gone.
The hand cupped across my mouth, keeping me silent and hiding my smiles, for years, and years, and years, has finally been removed.
The rope around my throat, keeping me tied down, and turning me pale, for years, and years, and years, has been cut, and tossed aside.
I can breath again.

Breakfast needs to
be prepared. For your sake, you best hurry.
Prepare a delicacy: no canned tuna or dry-as-the-dessert crumbs.
Perhaps a fresh trout, caught from a clean stream, and cooked just right.
Then, servant, as the schedule says, you may leave for work.
But not before cleaning the litterbox and taking out the dog.

just below the knob, a little sign hangs: "Do Not Disturb"
It warns any
would be tresspassers from harassing me, while I'm trying to think. My mother, my friends, and anyone else around.
I lounge in a desk, at a school, just sitting. Across my eyes, an angry glaze, just below my tilted eyebrows. "Do Not Disturb" I warn my peers.
